We are already less than 24 hours away from the Metro Metro Festival, and you have to get yourself festival ready. In order for that to happen, here are ten rap songs from artists who will be performing on that weekend. Please be aware that this is not a countdown and all songs do not have a particular order.
10. Cardi B ft. Bruno Mars – Please Me
Cardi B is the woman rapper of the hour, who is known for the single “I Like It”, her personality and her beauty, but more importantly, her talent. Her new song, ”Please Me” released in February 2019, featuring Bruno Mars is delicious. With lyrics about sexual desire, the instrumental exposed the same sexy vibe. Bruno Mars’s genre, R&B, and soul, is also heard in this hit. This song is mid-tempo retro groove style and you must listen to it! Can’t wait to see Cardi B on Metro Metro’s stage this Saturday.
9. Rich The Kid – PLUG WALK
As for Rich The Kid that you will see this Saturday, you have to listen to “Plug Walk”. Cloud rap mixed with hip-hop and trap, “Plug Walk” puts you in a good mood. Released in February 2018, this song is a club-ready track that illustrates his talent as a rapper. It is his second most listened song on Spotify. Be ready for Saturday! Looking forward to seeing you for the most epic festival of the summer!
8. Nessly – Moonlove
He taught himself how to produce and mix his music. Nessly started as a YouTuber and shared his mixtape “Lucid Dreams”. Now, his music is quite popular, even though he might not really have an implant on his arm. Anyhow, I recommend ”Moonlove”, he featured in it, but it’s a good melody of rap mixed with EDM.
7. Juice WRLD – ROBBERY
Known for “Lucid Dreams”, his most listened song on Spotify, Juice WRLD has also recently released his first single in February. Then, almost one month later, his album, Death Race For Love has finally been revealed. Throughout “Robbery”, Juice WRLD makes us feel his presence. In fact, it has a strong personal vibe Highsnobiety identified it as a “melancholic lamenting about a past love.” We recommend you this song that represents well the artist that he is before you see him on our stage this Sunday.
6. Future – Mask Off
This song’s title is really revealing and significant. The lyric tells Future’s story and explores his past from trapping to living a life of luxury. In this song, he shares openly his drug use and addiction. Hip-hop, trap and cloud rap, this song is the most listened to on Spotify. He literally takes his “mask off” throughout this song that reflects what is life used to be. Listen to it while waiting for his performance on Sunday.
5. Saweetie- Hot Boy
Well-known for her single Icy Grl, Saweetie as we mentioned in one of our posts, dropped a new EP called ICY. Based on her new music, I recommend “Dipped in Ice” and “Hot Boy”. Her music is a sweet mixture of rap and groove.
4- GASHI ft. French Montana, DJ Snake – Creep on Me
We recommend you Creep on Me, a perfect collaboration between Gashi, French Montana and DJ Snake. This weavy vibe song will make you dance without a doubt. With hip-hop roots, the song is more an Afropop-inflected jam, perfect for your Metro Metro playlist. Listen to it now!
3- Tyga – Goddamn
Tyga came through with his third single of the year, Goddamn is a song you will listen to nonstop. Watch his music video where he shares a cowboy-filled visual along with ‘’Goddamn’’. More importantly, don’t miss the rapper square dancing. You can easily put this song in your summer playlist with its up-tempo beat. The instrumentals are very strong and are the anthem of this song. We recommend you to listen to it to before Metro Metro.
2- FouKi – iPhone
A rapper who grew up in Montreal’s “Plateau Hess”, FouKi recently released his album, ZayZay, with 18 songs with an incredible sound. “iPhone” is already his third most heard song on Spotify, the first of his new album. With a chorus that will be stuck in your mind for the whole weekend, “iPhone” is a very rhythmic composition. We hope to hear some of his new compositions from ZayZay during his performance. Listen now, it will help to better know the artist who will appear at Metro Metro this Saturday, May 18.
1- Sean Paul – Boasty
Sean Paul’s song “Boasty” is a huge dancehall collaboration formed by Wiley, Stefflon Don, and Idris Elba. It has a catchy rhythm of that classic Caribbean music. We all know at least one song from Sean Paul. In any case, you can always listen to “Contra la Pared” with JBalvin.

I just heard about Juice Wrld. What a sad thing. He died at just 21 years old. That is farrrr too young. I hope he found the way home… 🙁
