For its second edition, the team behind Metro Metro has truly chosen the best in the industry
The second edition of the Metro Metro Festival will be held in Montreal from May 15 to 17, 2020. For the occasion, a little over 50 artists and DJs will come to the festival’s stages to offer electrifying performances to the public. Through these artists, the Metro Metro Festival will welcome a total of 10 women throughout the 3 days of the festival. We are proud to present them to you today !
Bhad Bhabie
‘’Cash Me Outside, How Bout Dah ?’’, the popular phrase the young girl said on the Dr. Phil show, introduced her to the world at the age of 13. After the phrase was used in several memes and popular songs, the girl began to become more involved in music. Now working under the name Bhad Bhabie, the girl has to date collaborated with popular artists such as Rich The Kid, Lil Yachty and TY Dolla $ign. She will be with us on the second day of Metro Metro !
Danileigh
The multi-talented artist was influenced at a very young age by artists such as Missy Elliot, Drake and Rihanna. At the age of 16, Danileigh danced with none other than Nelly Furtado and Pharrel, to name a few. It was finally at 18 that the legendary Prince recruited Danileigh to direct her music video “Breakfast Can Wait”, propelling her to the top. Since then, the artist has collaborated with the artist Lil Baby for the hit song “Lil Bebe” and with Chris Brown for the song “Easy”. No need to tell you that we are really excited to see her perform at Metro Metro !
DJ Kelly
Kelly Saint-Pierre AKA DJ Kelly will be making the crowd dance at the Metro Metro Festival next May. The young mom opened for none other than Loud when he performed at the Bell Centre. Her musical choices are often guided by musical trends, while adding a touch of throwback. A beautiful mix to please young and old alike!
DJ Tallandskiinny
Tallandskiinny‘s success is due to the various festivals she has performed at and the DBL (DJ Battle League) title she won. Having also performed in several bars on the Montreal scene, the women has undeniably earned her place as a DJ at the Metro Metro Festival!
Naya Ali
The Montreal-born thirty-something has not always evolved in the world of music. In fact, Naya Ali was working in a marketing position with a 9-to-5 schedule when she decided it wasn’t for her. She took a turning point in her life and made music her profession and hasn’t stopped since. She was even the third headliner at the popular Festival d’été de Québec in 2019, just behind Koriass and Loud. Naya will be with us at the festival, for our greatest pleasure!
Nissa Seych
Born in Montreal to parents of Seychelles origin, Nissa Seych was already writing songs at the age of 8 and loved to sing. After several years of perfecting and maturing, the artist finally released her first singles in 2018. With a fusion of R&B, dancehall and afrobeat styles, Nissa Seych will be at the festival on May 15th for the first day of the festival !
Odreii
The Montreal-born artist made her debut in London, where she learned to play guitar and performed in various pubs in the city. After a few years of perfecting her skills, Odreii finally returned to Montreal to support artist Ella Ray in her career. They performed in several festivals such as Osheaga, MURAL Festival and the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Next May, Odreii will be performing at the Esplanade of the Olympic Stadium for the Metro Metro Festival!
Sarahmée
Rising star Sarahmée will be performing on the first day of the festival. The artist of Senegalese origin has made her way in this male-dominated industry. She is now one of the most respected artists in the field, especially since she is not shy about putting forward her feminist ideals. We are more than fortunate to have her as one of our festival artists!
Young M.A
Young M.A. definitely didn’t have an easy childhood. Born in Brooklyn, New York, the girl saw her father go to jail when she was only 1 year old. She also lost her brother to gun violence, forcing her to become a pillar for her mother. Fortunately, it was in 2016 that the woman’s career took a big turn. The release of her single ”Ooouuu” earned her a lot of media coverage as well as worldwide advertising campaigns with Google Pixel 2 and Beats By Dre. Young M.A will be performing on the stage of the Metro Metro Festival next May!
Zeina
Montreal singer Zeina appeared on our screens with her EP Odd One Out in 2017. Since then, she has been working hard on new songs that have resulted in her latest creations, “Killer” and ”Awake”.
