Growing up in Compton, South Los Angeles, Roddy Ricch began recording in his bedroom at the age of 16, honoring his family’s roots in Louisiana while recounting his life in Los Angeles. His debut album, Feed tha Streets, was released in late 2017. The following year, Ricch made a big breakthrough, starting with the release of his EP Be 4 tha Fame. That summer, he released the single “Die Young”, produced by London on da Track. The song became a viral hit and propelled the young rapper, accumulating millions of hits in just a few months to finally be certified platinum.
In November 2018, Ricch released Feed tha Streets II, a second collection of his melodic rap and hypnotic rhythms. After reaching the Hot 100 with the consecutive 2019 singles “Big Stepper”, “Start wit Me” and “Tip Toe”, he released Please Excuse Me for Being AntiSocial, his first real album. It reached #1 on the Billboard 200 in December of that year.
